Microsoft: Executive Briefing Center

LED Wall, Real Time Visualization, Interactive Cortana Wayfinder

Bringing the world-class Microsoft Executive Briefing Center into the future, Volvox Labs designed and fabricated two permanent installations in the lobby area. Greeting the guests, the weather, traffic patterns and locations around the world are beautifully displayed on huge 40 ft. LED wall. On the second floor VVOX custom designed a wayfinding solution, that helps guests not only navigate around the building, but that can also answer any question they might have.

With these two new editions to the Microsoft Executive Center visitors are welcomed in a unique and delightful way.

Meet Cortana, The New Receptionist

The interactive Cortana powered wayfinding wall is anything other than traditional. It is built into a custom fabricated architectural facade. Guests can ask the wayfinder questions about their upcoming meetings, directions to facilities within the building or even funny jokes. It is an easy and fun way for guests to get information about basic facts.

Introducing A New Type Of Lobby

In the lobby visitors are greeted by a LED wall showing real-time data visualization. It displays beautiful representation of the weather, traffic patterns, a digital clock and the origin countries of all the companies that have visited the Microsoft Executive Center. To give guests an extra warm welcome, the system will also play a customized welcome sequence, specific to the attendee. This pleasant surprise is a great way to celebrate the friendship between Microsoft and it's visitors.

The wayfinding facade is handmade by VVOXSTUDIO. Inspired by the Microsoft logo, it is made of CNC milled tiles cut out of the stone-like material corian Over 70 smooth, white tiles were separately treated and finished to perfection. Behind the tiles a speaker and microphone are discreetly situated.
