NIKE/ TEST STRIDEVVOX was invited by creative agency Leviathan to engineer the interactive system for the
Nike Test Stride exclusive event for media and VIPs in Shanghai, China.
Leviathan agency tasked Volvox labs to program a 170-foot-long interactive obstacle course, complete with jagged terrain, a flooded street, and a barricaded alley. Named, Nike Test Stride, this competitive event used human motion to trigger visuals and tracked participants’ scores in real-time, while an automatic photo-capture feature displayed their victories across a vivid 30-foot-wide display.
Custom software was created to be used on Microsoft Surface Pros. The software allowed VIPs to register their name, email and also trigger activation of the course.
Our custom software allowed Brand Ambassadors to easily monitor each runner’s performance and stop the course as needed. Lidar sensors placed throughout the course were programmed to track human motion, triggering amazing real-time visuals.
VVOX created a photo system placed in the obstacle course. It automatically snapped an image that was displayed alongside each runner’s stats, shown on a 30-ft wide digital victory scoreboard.
