Our team focused on developing multiple visual themes complementing each other but also working as stand-alone moments. Inspired by the dark techno vibe of Nicole’s music we started off on a darker side with micro-scale CG environments and objects.
While developing and stylizing the content to stay on the dark, mysterious edge, new larger and colorful scenes started emerging. We’ve explored subdued yet powerful color palettes, artistically sprinkled throughout the set.
Complimenting the fire like orange worlds, the team went on to exploring iridescent blue mutations of various objects and environments. Made up of Houdini simulated soft bodies, particles, and cloths these sequences evoke the sense of infinity on a micro and macro scale.
In addition to Houdini, we used Notch extensively to add an intricate layer of complexity to 2D typographical and graphical animations composited on top of the main edit.
As a culmination of the color exploration, we ended up on a full spectrum color shader development. This part of the edit is the most explosive, overpowering with energy and motion to accompany the hardest of drops.
Intertwined with the synthetic, purely CG graphics we’ve introduced a human element. Slow-motion underwater footage with a touch of Notch particles overlay brings the show together with a touch of humanity amongst the technology-driven music and content.
